Italy's chances at World Cup 2014 are GOOD! As four-time champions, Italy will be looking for a fifth title when they travel to Brazil. Milan's Mario Balotelli will lead the line and the mercurial Andrea Pirlo (Pirlo, Pirlo, Pirlo…) is expected to create a strong midfield. Giuseppe Rossi will be making a comeback for the national team after battling an injury for two years.

IAC Shakespeare Night

Date: Sunday, June 22,2014
Location Idaho Shakespeare Festival
Event: IAC Volunteer night at ISF - the play - 'Deathtrap'
Time: 5:30

This will be the 5th year for IAC Club members to volunteer at Idaho Shakespeare. This has been an opportunity to promote and represent the club to the general community and we always have a lot of fun doing it! We typically do two plays a season, Deathtrap will be the first of the two plays this summer.

Keep an eye on the schedule for the next play and contact Harriet Almerico if you are interested in volunteering.

Directed by Charles Fee
Cunningly clever and comically twisted, Deathtrap is a murder mystery masterpiece that is so wickedly good…it’s to die for! A once successful Broadway playwright is struggling to overcome not only a dry spell but also a string of flops and a shortage of funds. His fortunes turn when one of his students shares a brilliant new script with blockbuster potential. Resolved to resurrect his collapsing commercial career, the covetous playwright conceives a treacherous trap to snare the script and claim credit for its creation. Murderous machinations ensue, springing forth a surprising conclusion and, of course, a breathless finale.

2014 IAC Annual Summer Picnic

Date: Sunday, June 29,2014
Location Julia Davis Park, Shelter #1
(Same location as last year near the bocce courts)
Event: Annual Summer Potluck Picnic & Bocce Tournament
Time: 12:00 - 4:00

Men’s Breakfast: 9:00 a.m. This year, phone calls will be made to all men members to coordinate this breakfast and setup for the picnic.

It’s hard to believe that it is already time to gather the family and join in the fun and food at our IAC Annual Summer Picnic.

It’s a POT LUCK! Members are asked to bring a main dish to serve 6 people. In addition, if your last name begins with the letter A-G bring a salad to share; letters H-Z bring a dessert.

Please remember to bring along serving utensils, your own plates and eating utensils.

The Club will provide water, wine, beer, soft drinks, and SPUMONI ice cream.

This year we will also set up a couple of tables with seating under tent shelters to provide additional shaded spots for members and their families to sit together.

We will have games for the kids, door prizes for the adults AND this year we will be organizing a Bocce tournament to be held after the picnic at the Bocce courts adjacent to the picnic shelter.

To make it exciting, we are proposing a $20 entry fee per team – with the entry fee going towards the prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners.
So not only will you go home with a full stomach, but potentially you might have a little extra spending cash in your pockets.

If you have any questions or need additional information, please contact Jessica Rodriguez by email or phone, 343-6489.

Event: Annual Summer Night at the Horse Races
Time: 5:30pm

iac horse racesHey does this crew look familiar? Were you there that night?
If so, it’s happening again and if you missed it – now is the time to join club members for the one of the annual summer outings – The Italian American Club – Night at the Races.

We made some changes to improve the event. First the club will be inside in the Turf Club, no more wind or hot temps to contend with and the buffet is  no longer part of the price, so that’s why the cost is lower and members can choose to either eat at the horse races or elsewhere.

This is basically an impromptu night at the races the club is organizing for member’s their families and their friends, you pay at Les Bois the night of the event, so no need to get money into the club early.

Spots are limited, so contact Sally Guiterrez 229-0095 or Jessica Rodriguez 343-6489 , if you have any questions or need some additional information.
